Event One

  • Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center 210 North Santa Fe Avenue Pueblo, CO, 81003 United States (map)

In this feature documentary, follow the half-century story of America's civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking "Bowling Alone" research into America's decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy's present crisis. Flanked by influential fans and scholars — from Hillary Clinton, Pete Buttigieg, and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy to Eddie Glaude Jr., Raj Chetty, and Priya Parker — as well as inspiring groups building community in neighborhoods across the country, join Bob as he explores three urgent civic questions: What makes democracy work? Why is American democracy in crisis? And, most importantly… What can we do about it?

Event Goal & Mission

ClubCon.org, in partnership with the Pueblo Star Journal and the Colorado Media Project, is committed to strengthening community engagement through open dialogue, collaboration, and meaningful connections. This event aligns with a shared mission: to support Colorado newsrooms in hosting community engagement and listening events that foster deeper understanding and trust between local media and the people they serve.

Our goal is to better understand the needs of our community, engage with new voices, and create spaces for meaningful conversations around the issues that matter most. By facilitating open discussions and strengthening relationships between newsrooms and residents, we are building a more informed, connected, and engaged Pueblo. Join us in shaping the future of local news and civic participation!

Each attendee will receive this special complimentary inaugural reusable tote at the event. Each tote has a storage pouch sewn into the seam.
